Mr. Yue, 72, lives together with his wife, his daughter and his grandchild in Yue village, in the southern outskirts of Zhengzhou. The houses of his youngest and oldest son have been demolished but neither of them received the promised financial compensation. Mr. Yue is angry and says the local government is bad. The neighbour’s house was torn down as well to make room for a road. He believes that the government will soon take away his farmland and, in a not too far distant future, his house too. The third and fourth floor of the 388 meter tall Tower of Fortune houses the world’s largest panoramic painting. It is 163.52 m long and 18.422 m tall. It was unveiled by the Henan Administration of Radio Film and Television (China) on April 26, 2011. The painting is entitled “Splendid Central Plains” and provides a detailed portrayal of Henan’s historical heritage and natural scenery. It includes 96 sites of interest in the Province, including three world heritages: the historic monuments of Dengfeng, the Longmen Grottos in Luoyang and the Yinxu Museum in Anyang.
